Tong Sui, with damp hair, answered his video invite. The moisture on his eyelashes glimmered, and his freshly washed skin was as delicate and smooth as a soft-boiled egg.
Since he wasn’t recording a show, his collar was casually open, allowing a glimpse of his attractive collarbone.
That one glance nearly took Chi Xingyu’s breath away.
Behind Tong Sui was the familiar backdrop of his streaming room. While drying his hair, he said, “I just got out of the shower and didn’t see your message.”
His voice, soft as it traveled through the speaker, cut through the chatter of many people in the break room.
The annoying noise instantly fell silent.
Tong Sui’s voice was that of a gentle youth, soft and sweet; even when he spoke normally, it felt a bit like he was being coy.
The group of eSports players, usually focused on their games, couldn’t resist such charm.
Chi Xingyu, feeling quite enthralled himself, wanted nothing more than to teleport back home.
He glanced at his teammate, who was snacking on a late-night meal, and asked Tong Sui, “Are you hungry?”
“A bit.”
“Then send me your building number, and I’ll bring you some food, okay?”
Tong Sui hesitated, “You don’t intend to come personally, do you?”
Chi Xingyu replied, “…”
Although he did think about it, he didn’t want to scare Tong Sui. “I’ll just order takeout for you.”
Only then did Tong Sui send him the correct address. “I’ll go blow dry my hair now.”
After hanging up the video call, Chi Xingyu looked up to see pairs of eyes scrutinizing him. Even those who had just said he was too affectionate changed their attitude after they searched for Tong Sui’s photos online.
Chi Xingyu pretended not to notice their gazes and ordered a huge amount of food, quite pleased with himself.
Tong Sui only knew Chi Xingyu was ordering him late-night snacks, but when he received an entire bag of food, he was dumbfounded.
This is way too much.
There was no way Tong Sui could finish it all alone.
Chi Xingyu, still on video call, explained, “I was just thinking about how to buy you food, and I accidentally ordered too much.”
Tong Sui could only take two boxes from the bag, leaving the rest untouched, and knocked on the door of the neighboring room.
His unknown roommate initially looked confused when they opened the door, but was surprised when they saw Tong Sui return.
“Do you want some late-night snacks? I ordered too much, so I was hoping you could help me out.”
The bag in Tong Sui’s hand was from a very famous restaurant in H city, known for its extortionate prices.
Tong Sui wasn’t very clear about the price, so after delivering the snacks, he came back.
He started eating while on the video call.
Chi Xingyu propped his chin up, watching Tong Sui eat.
His smile was unwavering.
Tong Sui ate slowly, chewing leisurely with his cheeks puffing up, and occasionally, his rosy tongue could be seen peeking out.
As Tong Sui was almost full, he heard Chi Xingyu softly say, “Can I come see you tomorrow?”
The food made him a bit softer.
Tong Sui nodded in agreement.
After exchanging good nights, Tong Sui washed up and went to bed. Meanwhile, Chi Xingyu struggled to sleep, overwhelmed by how unbelievable everything felt.
He tossed and turned, caught up in his thoughts. By the time he realized it, the sky was faintly brightening. Remembering his agreement to meet Tong Sui, Chi Xingyu finally closed his eyes and barely managed to sleep for two more hours.
At the usual time Tong Sui would wake up, Chi Xingyu sent him a good morning message.
There was no response.
He placed his phone by the pillow, closed his eyes, and quietly waited.
Even this seemingly dull wait was a delightful experience for Chi Xingyu.
Tong Sui’s biological clock had him waking up briefly. Struggling to open his eyes, he saw the message Chi Xingyu had sent and groggily responded with a simple “morning.”
But the drowsiness returned, and after replying, Tong Sui set his phone aside, burrowing into the blankets to continue sleeping.
Once Tong Sui caught up on his sleep, he sleepily entered the small bathroom, freshened up, and, with a face full of moisture, sat down in his gaming chair, reopening his phone.
He vaguely remembered Chi Xingyu had messaged him earlier.
A new message popped up.
Chi Xingyu: Open the door.
Tong Sui paused for a moment, a ridiculous thought surfaced in his mind, and he quickly slipped on his slippers and rushed to the door.
“Morning.”
Chi Xingyu looked quite handsome today. At first glance, his outfit seemed simple, but every detail, from the hat to the watch strap, was carefully coordinated, making him appear like an attention-grabbing cool guy.
And in his hand, he held a bag of breakfast.
Chi Xingyu said, “I figured you were probably sleeping in again, so I came to bring you breakfast right on time.”
Tong Sui hadn’t expected Chi Xingyu to come and bring him breakfast.
“Come in.”
Although Chi Xingyu wanted to enter, he hesitated, recalling their conversation from yesterday, his step faltering. “Is it convenient? If not, I can wait outside.”
“It’s fine, just stay in my room.”
Tong Sui pulled Chi Xingyu into his small room.
The already cramped space felt even more confined with two people standing inside.
But Chi Xingyu didn’t seem to mind at all.
Because of Tong Sui’s presence, the room was filled with a faint fragrance, sweet but just right.
Especially the wall behind the gaming chair; Chi Xingyu had seen it countless times in streaming pictures and was familiar with every little ornament.
They were all very ordinary little things, but the thought that they belonged to Tong Sui made them seem strangely cute and interesting to Chi Xingyu.
He curiously touched everything until his finger accidentally brushed against a row of clothes in the corner, causing him to quickly retract his hand as if shocked.
Chi Xingyu’s ears turned slightly red.
These were various skirts, including one that Tong Sui had worn during a live stream, which was displayed among them.
